Fashion returned to Oviedo with the second edition of the Pasarela Campoamor, directed by Graciela Suárez Viñuela. The creation, colours and trends of the coming summer were put on the stage that night of the Oviedo theatre with Nelsy Chelala, the firm Ángel Schlesser, Maison Mesa, Victorio & Luccino and the students of the University School of Design, Innovation and Technology (ESNE Asturias).
One of the highlights of the day, the one that closes it, was the fashion show of Victorio&Luccino, an iconic brand in the world of fashion. The collection they presented, 'The Colour That Gives Life', was an "explosion of colour". In addition, they had a new experience as it was the first time they presented their designs in a theater. The Sevillians affirmed that fashion "is an X-ray of society" and advocated for institutions to support the world of design. "I think we are going through a tunnel, but in the end it will have the light that we have lived and enjoyed for many years," they said.
"Design is art, just like literature or theatre. Last Saturday there were two big parades in Oviedo, the derby that filled the Carlos Tartiere, and the Campoamor. We have to fill the stadium with culture", said the councillor of the area of the City of Oviedo, Roberto Sánchez Ramos 'Rivi', during the presentation of the event, in the Tea Room of the Campoamor Theatre.
A year ago, Graciela Suárez said that the event was "born to stay" and it stayed. The event featured a performance by the soprano Beatriz Díaz and the dance of two dancers from the National Ballet of Spain.
The fur shop of the designer Nelsy Chelala was the one that opened the day. Their collection of coats was very colorful, with less volume and reversible garments "that serve for different occasions". The Canary Islander said that "you don't have to be afraid of your skin". The secret is to "wear it naturally, like any other piece of clothing".
Daniel Rabaneda, current creative director of the firm Ángel Schlesser, gave "a twist to the brand" with his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. "It's about rejuvenation while maintaining the lines of the brand," he explained.
This year, the designer Juan Carlos Mesa, creator of Maison Mesa and who worked, among others, for Ágatha Ruíz de la Prada, repeated. During the twenty minutes that his show lasted, there was on stage "a mixture of all kinds of arts such as music, fashion and dance." A spectacular thing."
